Ben Verth

Based in Edinburgh, Ben has been writing and performing comedy for a decade cultivating a “clever, acerbic wit” (The Skinny) which is “economical, original and charmingly perceptive” (Three Weeks) with “sharp writing… dry, beautifully timed” (The Scotsman) and “enjoyably naughty” (Chortle). He has supported big names like Dylan Moran, Frankie Boyle, Jo Caulfield, Kevin Bridges, Tom Stade and Romesh Ranganathan to name a few, and regularly gigs as an act or compere all over the UK (The Stand Comedy Club in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Breakneck Comedy in Aberdeen, The Comedy Store and XS Malarkey in Manchester, Up The Creek and Crack Comedy in London).

He has performed four solo stand-up hours at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and in 2013 was a finalist in Scottish Comedian of the Year.

Ben is co-founder of Edinburgh’s seven-night-a-week Monkey Barrel Comedy Club which won Best Comedy Club at the Scottish Comedy Awards in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
