Neil Hickey has performed his thoughtful, warm and witty brand of humour in all the major comedy venues across Ireland. Also a regular on the festival circuit, Neil has performed at the Galway Comedy Festival, and several times at the Kilkenny Comedy Festival and The Vodafone Comedy Festival, while also having the honour of performing at the Irish Just for Laughs Montreal Showcase twice.
A past winner of the Bulmers Nuthin’ Butt Funny Newcomers Comedy Competition, this afforded Neil one of the highlights of his stand up career, the opportunity of support Bill Bailey at the Olympia Theatre. Following on from this, Neil made his Irish television debut appearing on RTE's Liffey Laugh stand up show. Shortly after this, Neil won the Irish heat of the Amused Moose Laugh off
Competition and came second in the Comedy Central Student Awards.
Since 2009 he has performed regularly at the Edinburgh Festival, where he wrote sketches and appearing in the Comedy Mish Mash for two years running. Then in 2014 Neil performed his first one-man show & a show that saw one of his jokes make the top 20 jokes of the fringe list.
